Step into the Civil war era by experiencing the Duff Green Mansion.  Learn what daily life was like for Duff and Mary Lake Green as they married, built their home and she gave birth to their son, Siege, in a civil war cave.  

You can tour their home from the ballroom danced in by Jefferson Davis and visited by Ulysses S. Grant to sitting by a fireplace in the former kitchen turned operating room where you might see the Confederate soldier ghost.  

You can sleep in an antique bed surrounded by period furniture and you can visit the site of the civil war cave on the property.

Rooms at Duff Green Mansion

All rooms are in the main house and have private baths, individual central air and heat, and cable television. All rooms are located adjacent to the off street parking area and are accessible to the handicapped. Guests have complete access to the main floor of the Mansion, Pool & Patio, and the Gardens & Porches. Your stay includes a three-course seated breakfast in the formal dining room of the Duff Green Mansion.

The Dixie Room

On the western side of the first floor beside the rose garden. May be accessed with no steps. Offers a contemporary king size bed, antique armoire, dresser and in room seating. A cozy, comfortable and bright and cheery room with hardwood floors. Private bath. Offers a Tub/shower combo.

The Camellia Room

Sleeps 2
Features a pencil post rosewood king bed. Additional antique rosewood furnishings compliment the pastel shades of teal, making this a romantic and historic room. The room offers two comfortable chairs for cozy conversations. Located on the north end of the home, closest to parking (No elevation or steps between parking and the Camellia and Magnolia rooms. Overlooks the rose garden, once a confederate burial ground, and is full of natural light. Recently remodeled private bath with tub and ceramic shower surround.

The Confederate Room

Offers two double beds and a single bed and is complemented with period antiques, making this large room very inviting. A comfortable sitting area ideal for relaxing by the fire or reading. Restful blue tones and oriental carpets combine to make up the decor. This room may be accessed without climbing steps. It is NOT Pet-Friendly. It borders the east garden of the home, a shaded area, perfect if you like to sleep late. Private bath has been recently remodeled with tub and ceramic shower surround.

The Magnolia Room

King bed and antique 3/4 bed complimented by a period sofa and chairs form a sitting area around the TV. This room is carpeted and therefore NOT pet friendly.  First floor near parking, no steps, easy access.

Little Annie

This smaller room is a little more budget friendly. But it is big enough for a queen bed and in-room seating. En-suite bath with tub/ shower unit. This room adjoins the courtyard and downstairs seating area. This room is under the kitchen. You may hear the staff in the morning. This room is NOT pet-friendly.

The Hideaway

This efficiency apartment is located just off the courtyard by the Mansion. The bedroom features a king size bed. There is a pull-out queen-size couch in the living room. This room is NOT Pet-Friendly. There is a kitchenette (refrigerator & microwave only), living room and bathroom with a stand up shower.

Pemberton Suite

Enjoy the 15-1/2 foot- ceilings in this period room. View the encased damage of the fifth cannon ball hitting the house which caused Duff to declare the home a hospital. The Pemberton Suite is located on the 3rd floor of the mansion. It’s the owners favorite room with floor to ceiling windows bringing in lots of natural light, original hardwood floors and a recently remodeled bathroom.

Duff Green Suite

Duff and Mary Green’s original room now features a luxurious bath with claw footed tub and separate shower. You can spread out and enjoy the king bed in this honeymoon suite or you can open the door to the original nursery and house the rest of your family in the two period double beds and the two twins. With the nursery, the suite can sleep up to eight people.

The Siege Room

Tucked behind the upstairs kitchen, this room offers a queen bed with en-suite bath, shower only.The upstairs hall provides an excellent sitting room for the Siege room.
Siege offers an excellent choice for those on a budget and is Pet-Friendly. Same tour, breakfast and common spaces as the most expensive room in the house just smaller, quainter.

Duff Green Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has received several awards and citations for the outstanding restoration as set forth by the Department of the Interior.
